Non-Surgically Improve Your Chin Profile with KYBELLA

“Double Chin” Solution

KYBELLA™ is the first and only FDA-approved nonsurgical treatment that contours and improves the appearance of submental fullness. FDA approved Kybella is a synthetic and safe version of a substance that naturally occurs in your body, called bile. Bile’s sole function is to break down fat, like when your dish soap washes butter off your dinner plates.

Once Kybella is injected into the area, those particular fat cells die, and are unable to store or hold fat ever again! The beauty of Kybella is that once the injection takes full effect, it not only kills the fat cells, but then tightens up the surrounding area so there is no loose hanging skin.

What Causes the Double Chin (Submental Fullness)?

Submental fullness, sometimes referred to as “double chin,” is a common yet under treated facial aesthetic condition that can impact a broad range of adults, including both women and men. Sometimes, no matter how much you diet or exercise, the condition may not go away and can make you look older and heavier than you actually are. Causes may include: Aging, Genetics, or Weight gain.

How Does Kybella Work?

KYBELLA™ is a naturally-occurring molecule in the body (deoxycholic acid) that aids in the break down and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath your chin, KYBELLA™causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat.

How Is Kybella Given?

KYBELLA™ is typically a 15- to 20- minute in-office treatment session. Dr. Brown will give you a series of injections into the fat under your chin at each treatment session. Dr. Brown will customize your KYBELLA™ treatment based on the amount of submental fullness you have and your treatment goals. Together, you will decide the treatment plan that’s right for you.

Is Kybella Right for Me?

KYBELLA™ may be right for you if you’re bothered by submental fullness, surgery is not an option for you, you feel the condition makes you look older or heavier than you actually are, and you eat well and exercise, but submental fullness does not go away.

Is There Downtime?

For most patients, downtime was minimal and occurred most commonly after the first treatment session.

How Many People Use Kybella?

KYBELLA™ has been the focus of a global clinical development program involving over 20 clinical studies with more than 2,600 patients worldwide, of which over 1,600 have been treated with KYBELLA™.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?

Many patients treated with KYBELLA™ experience visible contouring of their chin profile in 2 – 4 treatments.* Some people require up to 3 – 6 treatments in order to achieve results. Once your chin profile has improved, you may not need to be treated with KYBELLA™ again.

What Are The Side Effects?

As with other injectable treatments, you may experience side effects with KYBELLA™. The most common side effects are swelling, bruising, pain, numbness, redness and formation of small areas of firmness around the treatment area. In clinical trials, the side effects that people experienced with KYBELLA™ became less bothersome with subsequent treatments. Apply ice or a cold pack to the treatment area for 10 to 15 minutes if any side effects bother you.

Prior to administering KYBELLA™, Dr. Brown may apply ice/cold packs or topical and/or injectable local anesthesia to the treatment area to make you more comfortable. We may also suggest you take an over-the-counter pain reliever before your appointment.
