Bellafill® for Smile Lines, Enjoy a Youthful Look That Lasts!

Different Than Other Fillers

Bellafill® offers a new level of filler rejuvenation that replaces lost volume in the skin below the wrinkle for results that are immediate and lasting. In addition to adding volume to smooth away facial wrinkles known as smile lines, Bellafill® helps your skin re-create its own firmer structure for beautiful, younger-looking skin and lasting results.

As an FDA approved filler for the correction of facial lines known as nasolabial folds or smile lines, you will see immediate results in wrinkle correction and can return to your normal daily activities after the procedure. Treatment with Bellafill® is very similar to treatment with conventional injectable fillers. The main difference is that Bellafill® requires a skin test in the United States to identify those patients who may have an allergy to bovine collagen or lidocaine.

Bellafill® injectable gel is comprised of 80% purified collagen and 20% PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) microspheres. These spheres are smaller than a human hair, barely visible to the eye, but they are powerful collagen builders. Those tiny spheres stimulate your own natural collagen to grow and spread out forming a support system for your face. That new collagen is yours, you grew it on your own, and you get to keep it. That full, youthful look you love won’t vanish in a year with Bellafill®.

How Long Does It Last?

Bellafill® lasts a minimum of FIVE years! It is probably a permanent effect, but the FDA data shows a minimum of 5 year effectiveness.

How Fast Does It Work?

The collagen gel in Bellafill® provides immediate volume and lift.  Over time the collagen is absorbed by the body.  The PMMA microspheres (tiny little seeds) remain in place and create a matrix that supports production of the body’s own collagen for lasting correction.

How is it unique?

Bellafill® is a smooth, collagen-based filler with poly-methylmethacrylate (PMMA).  PMMA is virtually invisible to the human eye and has been used in medical implants for 65 years.  The PMMA recreates the firm structure of smoother looking skin by supporting production of your body’s own collagen.

Is It Painful?

Bellafill® contains a numbing medication, lidocaine, for greater comfort during treatment.

How Will My Skin Feel After?

Bellafill® is a simple, in-office treatment with no downtime. As with any injectable filler, you may experience temporary pain, swelling and reddening at the treatment site. These side effects are usually gone within a few days. Occasionally, there is transient bruising that typically disappears within 7 days. Less common side effects include rash and itching more than 48 hours after treatment, persistent swelling or redness, and increased sensitivity at injection sites. Two other rare potential side effects of all fillers may be lumps and granulomas, both of which may be treated by your Licensed Provider. Be sure to call your Licensed Provider immediately if you notice any unusual skin reactions around the treatment area.

Is There an Advantage over Laser?

Depending upon the depth of the needles used, you may feel anything from warmth and redness like a sunburn to a more rashy red, and swollen sensation. Your skin may also feel tight and very warm.

What Are Granulomas?

Granulomas are inflammatory reactions that may occur with all fillers and can be treated. Bellafill® was studied in the longest and largest filler safety study ever conducted. In this long terms safety study, the granuloma rate was 1.7% and majority had resolved or improved with treatment by the end of the study.

Can Bellafill® Be Used in My Lips?

No, Bellafill isn't a good filler for lips.
