Juvéderm™ - Helping replace our skin’s natural moisturizer

Juvéderm™ is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based on the natural substance called Hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is a naturally occurring molecule. Much like a sponge, its primary function is to bind and absorb water, which creates volume in the face. In this way, Hyaluronic acid can be thought of as the body’s internal moisturizer. As we age, HA diminishes which contributes to the presence of lines and folds. Juvéderm™ can flesh out these hollows and restore your rounded, youthful facial appearance. Juvéderm™ is also used to make your lips look defined, larger, and more voluptuous.

While there are a variety of hyaluronic acid fillers, Juvéderm™ is uniquely formulated. A next generation HA filler, Juvéderm™ uses a manufacturing process called Hylacross™ technology. Hylacross™ gives Juvéderm™ its special smooth-gel structure that holds up over time.

How does it Work?

Dr. Brown carefully injects the Juvéderm™ gel under your skin with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous and produces a long-lasting, natural-looking enhancement. In the past Collagen was used for this purpose, but Dr. Brown prefers Juvéderm as it lasts much longer and never causes allergy. Dr. Brown also uses a dental block before injecting your Juvéderm™, so that this procedure is virtually painless.

Unlike other physicians administering Juvéderm™, Dr. Brown has extensive experience and has also trained in Canada with experts in these injection techniques. Lip enhancement, in particular, is a precise procedure that requires time and concentration if your results are to be symmetric and natural looking. Dr. Brown always takes the extra time to ensure that your Juvedérm treatment will look beautiful and never artificial.

Treatment side effects are usually mild to moderate, lasting 7 days or less, and include temporary injection-site reactions such as redness, pain, firmness, and swelling.
